The first three months with a new provider set the tone. A well-run onboarding is
organized, communicative, and focused on risk first.

**Days 1–30: Discover and stabilize**

– **Kickoff meeting:** goals, contacts, escalation, and expectations

– **Discovery:** inventory of devices, users, software, network, licenses, and backups

– **Credentials and documentation:** secure handover of passwords and records

– **Install management tools:** monitoring, patching, and security agents

– **Quick wins:** fix urgent issues, enable MFA, verify backups, and close obvious
gaps

– **Introduce the help desk:** how to submit tickets and what to expect

**Days 31–60: Standardize and secure**

– **Assessment findings:** a report of risks and recommendations

– **Security improvements:** patching, endpoint protection, email security, and
access controls

– **Backup and recovery testing**

– **Documentation:** network diagrams, systems, and procedures

– **Process alignment:** onboarding and offboarding, change requests, and approvals

**Days 61–90: Optimize and plan**

– **Review of results:** ticket trends, response times, and satisfaction

– **IT roadmap:** a prioritized plan with budget estimates

– **Project planning:** hardware refreshes, migrations, and upgrades

– **Strategic review meeting:** agree on regular check-ins

**What you should do**

– Name a contact and give timely access

– Share information about problems and plans

– Encourage staff to use the help desk, not hallway fixes

– Give honest feedback

**Signs it’s going well**

Clear communication, documented findings, fewer recurring issues, and no surprises.

**DBR Soft follows a structured onboarding plan so your first 90 days deliver real
improvement.** **[Contact us for more information.](https://dbr-soft.com/contact/)**
